Pay Pal

I don't think this is the correct place to ask this question but I am have just set up a PayPal account and now the verification banking has gone through so am ready to use it.
The reason for setting up the account was that I wanted to buy something online but they don't have facility for CC or DC payment Just PayPal or send a cheque.
I am unsure just what I have to do when I try to order now from this Company Have looked at PP web site but I am still not sure.
Do I use the account no and would appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Thanks Sue

you have linked your paypal to your bank account yes ?

so when you want to buy some thing you click the on the website such as check out with paypal , this will then bring up the paypal site and you log in

click pay and paypal will take the money from your bank

1 it does not go out of your bank straight away it takes 2-3 working days like a direct debit

be care full of bogus emails asking you to loggin to paypal etc and verify your details they are usually a scam

    enjoy

  • You go to the merchants site and go through the buy process.

Normally, if it is a quarter decent website, paypal will be integrated to its purchase process in which case once you select PayPal as your payment method you will be transferred to PayPal's site where you log in and confirm which payment method you want to use etc and assuming the payment goes through you'll be transferred back to the merchants site after.

If it is an ancient site, or very poorly set up etc and isnt integrated with PayPal then you'd expect them to email you with instructions afterwards with their username that you are to send the money to. So you'd then log into PayPal directly and use the Send Money option and input their username, the amount and what method etc and bobs your uncle

You don't actually have to have a pay pal account to pay via them. You can use a guest account.

All the retailer is doing is using pay pal as their merchant bank.

Any merchant with a paypal account can accept payment from anyone even if they don't have a paypal account; but the merchant has to create the relevant coding on their website (or use paypal's "Buttons" function).

However, the customer must have a debit or credit card to pay without a paypal account (or at least to pay without logging in to the paypal account). Paypal just acts like any other card provider offering merchant services.

If the customer doesn't have a debit or credit card, the customer would have to log in to be able to use one of the other funding options (i.e. from bank account).
