Hi,
I'm trying to reclaim PPI payments from the Co-operative bank on a personal loan i took out in 2005, i did not have a bank account with the Co-op, but took out a loan from them because they were offering a good deal at the time.
I sent them the neccessary form to claim back the payments but unfortunately i don't have the account/policy number for the loan.
I supplied them with what i thought was enough personal information, including the old address i took out the loan from and the exact payments i made each month, but they say they have no record of it.
I thought it would be a good idea to send them a SAR letter, but the template letter on MSE requires an account number.
Am i wasting my time with this claim or is there a way round it?
Any help would be much appreciated.

If you have written to them stating name address and they now claim that there is no record of it , It will now be up to you to send details of payment to them if it was by bank direct debit or other means.
A SAR letter could be sent without the account number they will send any details they have on your account supposing that the loan was paid off less than six years ago .
Some banks can go back further than six years and hopefully this may be the case here.
You will have to give 40 days from the request of the SAR.Light travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0 -
The Bank have already said they have no record, it's your own choice whether you SAR them in an attempt to prove them wrong. It costs £10 and they can take up to 40 days to respond.
Excellent template here:
