in Credit cards
Hello all,
I have recently checked my noodle account and have discovered a CCJ that I wasn't aware of:eek:!!!
How do I go about handling this etc?? Is there a link (I've tried searching on here) that gives the do's and don'ts/further advice about CCJs??
A few details:
Status - Active
Judgement Date-2008
Address - it states the rental address I lived at.
Thank you muchly

im afraid that will be hardlines
if you had some credit at on old address and moved on without telling the creditor and decided not to commit to a payment they have been trying to contact you
the details on the ccj will be on your credit report
you could contact the registry trust but i think you have to pay
i would get the £2 statutory report from the of 3 CRAS preferably the experian 1 as its the most widly used but thats my personal preference
when a ccj is logged you usally get i think 30 days to appeal to the court
paying it off now will move it to settled but wont improve your credit rating untill it dissapears after 6 years from the ccj date

First get details of the case itself. You can either call the court that issued the judgement and ask for details or alternatively TrustOnline.org.uk allows you to get the details online (for a fee).
Depending on what the case is and if you agree or not with it there are a number of different options open to you0 -

Details of the claimant are not part of the public record so aren't available from CRAs like Experian or from Registry Trust. You have to contact the court and give them the case number so they can look it up.
For a CCJ to stand you have to have received the summons. So if this took place after you left the address you can apply to have the CCJ cancelled (there is a fee for this) then simply repay the creditor what you owe.

No. Not always true.
The civil procedure rules allow court papers to be sent to your last known or "usual" address.
So if you have moved without giving the creditor a new address, then they can quite legitimately send papers to your last address and obtain a CCJ.
In most cases a court would only grant a set-aside in such a case on those grounds if you could show the court that you HAD given the creditor your new address, but they had still sent papers to the old one despite that.
Not withstanding whether you have other grounds to dispute the debt and hence the CCJ.
