When you transfer your insurance policy the old car will no longer be insured and therefore will have to be kept off the public highway (e.g. driveway, private car park etc.)

Technically you should also SORN it, but to be honest I wouldn't bother for a few weeks as it's harder to sell a car without tax.

Scrapping it will not affect your insurance, only accidents, claims or losses.

It may be possible to get your insurer to cover both vehicles for a short period of time. Ring them up and ask.

What is it and how much were you looking for?
  • Ebay it, short listing 99p, it will shift.
  • You need to rename the thread to

need to sell car but not advertised it yet

    Answer - advertise it!

You're not selling a VW Transporter van and want to use Yahoo finance are you? ;)

(There is a slightly serious point to this post, as soon as you mention offshore, some people are going to run a mile)
