newcastle this sat please help??

Hi i have a few hours to kill this sat 22nd oct in newcastle i have looked @ going to see oliver at the theatre royal they only have a few seats left but the prices are quite high :eek: does anyone know of a site that these few tickets may be sold on @ a reduced price I only need 1;) if not does anyone have any suggestion as to where to go for a few hours I don't know newcastle very well and will be around the tyne theatre area so any suggestions would be greatfull. will be there from 12 till 6 so quite a few hours to kill really:o cheers in advance guys:beer:

    the art gallieries and museums are free in Newcastle. Laing Art Gallery is great.
    Discovery museum also but its a bit out of the town centre.

    Or I would particularly recommend seeing if you can get a Quay link bus (big yellow buses) down to the Quayside,Go over the Millenium bridge have a look at the Sage and the Baltic, both free. Lots of places to eat down there too, and the cheap Quay link bus back up into to town from either side of the river.

    When your walking around Newcastle, dont forget to look above eye level, the architecture in places is stunning.

    anyone got anymore ideas please :) doesn't have to be oliver if anyone can think of somewhere else to go for a few hours around tyne theatre area this saturday it would be much appreciated cheers in advance:)

    oh galleries and museums sound great i like that sort of thing;) going to look into that now and see where they are compared to where i'll be see if i can walk it ;)and thanks for the bus tip to the quayside your a star:j

    Geordie born and bred, visit often but havent lived there for 45 years.

    Still go back and stay at premier inn on the Quayside for a couple of nights, just to do the exporing I never did when I lived there.

    Just as in other big towns, watch your bag and baggage.

    Lovely people up there and always happy to help.

    Needing to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans

    thanks didn't know they did this so if i go to the theatre on the morning and ask if they have any seats available for the matinee performance do i ask for a standby ticket or will they offer it to me? sorry to sound thick:o
