They are not, they separated in May 2008

Are you sure?

Still have the same registered office as each other and that building is an operational centre for the retail division. Likewise in resolution to a complaint to the group CEO in 2011 their response talked about their colleagues in both Very and Yodel which wouldn't suggest a supplier
• I have spoken to neighbours and none have got or seen the parcel. I have also co operated with Littlewoods with carrying out the investigation and given them the time. However, they have continued to give me wrong information and not co operated with me i.e
Still stating that the item was delivered and having to pay for it this month.
Then tilling me they're 'freeze' the payment just for that item, then don't.
Then telling me that I was given wrong information and they can't freeze payment.
Then telling me they are going to call my this morning to tell me where the investigation is at. They haven't!

I understand they need time and to look into it but I'm also not being able to sleep thinking that I have to pay for something I don't have and I don't have the money for. And Littlewoods have not given my any reassurance through this whole mess up they have created.

Have you got anything in writing from them stating the payment isnt due etc? If not, write to them explain the problem briefly (dont get too caught up, try and keep it simple) and request that they remove the charge from your account. State that your contract is with them and their contract with a third party should not impact negatively on you or cause you any financial burden.

• I have not received anything, letters or phone calls from Littlewoods. The only thing I have is my monthly statement which has two iPads on it and that I have to pay for.
I will send an email today and try and put it simply everything that has gone on.

Hi MissySJ,

We're sorry to hear you're having problems with your account.

If you would like to email your details to us at help@littlewoods.co.uk we can look into your query for you and sort this out for you.

In regards to the Buy now pay later option you have been given, this will have been offered so that you don't have to make payments towards this item until the problem is resolved. Unfortunately, we cannot freeze payments on items ordered so the BNPL option would have been given so that the iPad is not on your current account therefore won't affect your normal payments.

Hope this helps

Chris

• I do wonder if Littlewoods and it's sister brands still use "Snap" as their system... I hated it when they introduced it
• The reason I'm refusing to take 'buy now pay later' is because so far you have given me wrong information, not contacted me at all and not delivered the item safely. So I have no faith in you putting this item on BNPL as you will probably make me pay later (with interest)
• Plus agreeing to payment terms could be held against the OP as a willingness to purchase a second iPad.

Are you really agreeing to payment terms? Sounds much more like a simple way of working around a system constraint.

In my day of working for a mail order company the ancient system we had had no way to "freeze" an item from appearing on statements etc whilst a missing parcel investigation was carried out and so we did simply defer its payment whilst the investigation was ongoing.

Ok, I didn't use the exact words of "we will use a BNPL code" but would simply say I'll delay the item until January (or whenever) to give time for the investigation.

Not once when the parcel was confirmed lost was that treated as the customer agreeing to pay for something they never received. Not once when the parcel did turn up at the depot etc was it treated as the customer agreeing that they wanted the second one and removed their rights to return it. Not once when it turned out the customer had actually received it did it prevent them sending it to bad debt if the customer continued to refuse to pay for it and the item was used so unreturnable.

With respect, Littlewoods representative, whether your systems allow you to freeze payments or not is not the OP's concern.

The OP should not have to agree to the charges being added to a BNPL account while you investigate what has happened.

You should make notes on your system from your end; you should not be putting your customer to any inconvenience just because your system doesn't work properly.
