Is it safe to chop off unwanted Sky Cable?

Previous owner had 2 satellite dishes on gable end of house. Cable comes through wall in corner of lounge. It is a big bundle of brown cable, split at end with 2 connectors. It has been there at least 5 years and suspect many years longer.
I've never had Sky and don't want it but, if there was a remote possiblity it was required in the future, would the old dishes and cable be reused or would new ones be installed?
Now I've rearranged the furniture, the bunch of cable is no longer concealed. Is the cable totally dead, would it be safe to just chop it off on the lounge side?
Thank you.

they will normally re-wire it especially if the cable has been there for a while, yes it is dead, you would be better cutting the cable outside & pull it out of the wall as water can run down the inside or outside of the cable & into your lounge.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
