Received neutral feedback because of slow delivery

The buyer paid in the early hours of 6 September, I posted the item on 6 September second class as in the description. The item was in the UK.
I get neutral feedback today because of slow delivery, the buyer will know it was posted on the 6 September as that is when it was franked and I also have the proof of postage.
Do I just have accept this or can ebay remove the feedback? From the ebay help it looks like i have to beg the buyer to reconsider and ask him to change it.Is that right?

If the item genuinely did arrive today then yes that's annoying for the buyer, but as a seller I can't do more than post the day he paid and don't deserve a neutral for a delay at the Royal Mail.

  • Don't worry too much about neutral...it doesn't affect your percentage rating. No point wasting time and effort to get them to change the feedback.

Best thing to do is reply to the feedback so everyone can see response....say item was sent same day as payment was made. RM claim 2nd class can take a week to deliver.

It's so annoying when buyers mark on delivery times not dispatch times. I agree with hiccup123. If I read that type of reply to feedback it would not put me off buying from you.

I had one buyer complaining about my dispatch time 10 mins after paying on a Saturday night before a bank holiday! Maybe they thought I could teleport it to them!

Whilst it is only a neutral, doubtless the ratings will be low and that will have an impact on the OP's account.

I'd get on to CS and get them to remove it since it flags up something for which you are not responsible. A sarky response might feel good but won't do you much good if it makes you look like you are rising to the bait.

Agreed. Either contact the seller direct with a calm message (eg "Sorry to see you were disappointed with the dispatch time, however, as you see from the post mark, I sent it on the same day that you paid") or don't say anything at all & get onto CS.

The latter is probs the best option first, as you might be able to deal with it without having to get into dialogue with the buyer.
