Hello, as mentioned in a previous post, my boss has asked me to go part time until the job picks up again, which I didn't mind because we had our 2nd child in August and I'm going to use the spare time to go to college.
I have notified the tax credit people and I'm on less money and less hours but my working tax credit has gone from £30 a month to one payment of £60 and nothing else? I may need my eyes opening but I thought working tax credit is supposed to bring your income upto a liveable amount not make you struggle??

That was the idea when WTC was introduced. Benefits nowadays are increasingly designed to make sure that people struggle and incentivise them to work. No work, no home, no food, no life.
The ignorant masses support these policies, as proved by the many, "I pai mah taxis...blah...blah...blah" posts on this board.0 -

This is probably due to losing the '30 hour element' of working tax credits. This is included in the entitlement calculation when people work in excess of 30 hours as a way of incentivising people to work more - and this has always been the case.
