Problem with washing machine

Good evening everyone.
I'm having problems with my Beko washing machine (model is WM5100). We've had it for nearly 3 years with no problems up until now.
The problem we're experiencing is that the machine doesn't seem able to drain the water away. If we put a wash cycle on, the water just builds up in the system. Normally, the water is drained a couple of times during the cycle and a final one at the end. However, during these periods all you can hear now is a slight buzzing sound. It's as though the machine wants to drain water but it can't.
I've checked the water thingamajig outlet on the bottom of the washing machine and drained a few litres of water (the water was still present in the drum but disappeared as soon as I got rid of the water from the system). I can't see any blockages from that end.
I've also looked at the pipe that comes out of the washing machine and I can't see any obvious blockages there. I've even looked at the U-bend that leads the water out to the drain but there's nowt to see there.
Having drained the water away and checked for obvious blockages I put the washing machine on a quick wash. Once again, the water just built up in the drum again and the draining mechanism wouldn't kick in.
Opened up the outlet again and a few litres came off.
So I'm wondering what the problem could be? Could it be that the draining mechanism of the machine has gone kaput? If so, how much would it cost to repair including labour etc.?
Or is it something else?
Didn't get an extended warranty on the washing machine so I'm either going to have to call out a repair man or buy a new one.
Any thought and advice are appreciated.
Thank you.

Sound like the brushes have gone on the drain impeller, I assume you've checked the drain hose and filter?
With the filter out look where the filter is, you should see the impeller (star shaped) and it should have some slight resistance when you move it so it moves in stages. Make sure nothing is blocking it.
If it looks ok, set it to spin without the filter and see if the impeller spins (note spin cycle!!!!)
If it spins then try a reset :-
Put it on a rinse cycle with nothing in. Let it fill up then press and hold the start/pause/cancel button in for a few seconds and it should bring the pump on and reset.
If it doesnt spin then the brushes on impeller motor are knackered, costs about £20 to do yourself.0 -

I've checked the drain hose and filter but I can't see any problems there.
The part that you mention doesn't spin.
If it's the brushes on the impeller motor then what would be a reasonable quote? I'm going to ring a few repairers and see what price they say today.
Thanks for the advice.:grouphug:
