We are in the process of buying our very first house. The kitchen will need 'doing' at sometime ( hopefully soon if I have anything to do with it ! ). We went Bathroom and kitchen hunting, only window shopping, at the weekend. Looked at , Focus, Homebase, B&Q,Wicks and Ikea. The one we will probabily go with will be Ikea as you can design your own Kitchen and put in it what you want, regarding shelves, handles, door cupboards etc...
I would have a look on their website and see what you think. We found Focus a bit expensive x

Happy Easter to everyone on here :easter_os

Ikea is great for kitchen but they do tend do some funny sizes which you may find annoying if fitting intergrated appliances.
I recently brought a kitchen from B&Q and have been very impress not only with the quality but the service and the fast delivery.
the takeaway kitchens at my focus all look outdated and cheap looking but it maywell be different in your store.
Shop around there is some bargains around

Hi I bought a kitchen for my flat a couple of years ago from focus, we wanted something quite neutral as we were planning on selling so also didn't want to spend a fortune on it so focus was the ideal option the units were lovely and my husband and father fitted it and they said it was easy to work with (it must have been because they aren't the diy types!) it cost a fraction of the other companies we looked at. The only thing I would say if you have sides of units visible they don't come matching the door fronts and are just white although this didn't bother us. I would definately recommend.

OK - focus is out of the window - bought a kitchen from MFI at the weekend. Better quality (thicker carcuses) and overall a better plan and deal - oh and 4 weeks delivery! :)

    Glad you found one, congratulations.

Do you mind if I ask how much you've paid for fitting.

I'm in the early stages of shopping around looking for a kitchen and saw a few in MFI that we liked at the weekend.

A rough idea of what to expect to pay would be ideal.

Guys, If you like the MFI range, its worth checking out Howdens if you're doing it yourself as they supply MFI. I saved just over £2k on exactly the same gloss white kitchen, which meant I could put my plinth lights in ;-)
  • I bought this same kitchen from Focus. I had already purchased my appliances previously. I went to Focus paid £650 for units, worktops, extractor fan, sink & taps. They were offering 60% discount when I bought mine. They rang me to say when it was in stock & even though it is a takeaway kitchen you can pay extra for it to be delivered. The price depends on mileage, but if you ring up your store it will tell you.
Shop around though because different places have different offers.

    Hi,

Just wanted to find out if that is the Space White Gloss Kitchen? just got a Quote from MFI yestesday, coming up to £7400.00 which is for the cabinets and laminate worktop only.

Also do you know what the space white gloss kitchen is called at Howdens?

    Many Thanks:confused:
