Any suggestions for credit cards for bankrupts?

I would like some advice please.:)

It is 2 years from my bankruptcy (almost) and I have been offered 3 credit cards (in principal) One Vanquis, one capital one and I can't remember the other! (Sorry...) Well the interest rate is phenomenal of course (50%) but I guess if you pay it when the statement comes; it's OK.

However, for a start, I wonder if someone could advise me which one is best; either Capitol one or Vanquis or any other??? And also, what if I apply, and it's turned down (like what happened when Studio Christmas catalogue offered me an account (or so I thought) and then they retracted it!) Would it show as a kind of blip on my credit file; ie; will it show that I am applying for credit and being turned down?

I don't want to 'get into debt again BTW' I just want to rebuild my credit history.

Thank you.

Cheers Clapton. Do you have any suggestions for the best ones; or at least, the ones that are most likely to say yes. :)
  • Capital One at least offers an upgrade route in brand to normal and upper accounts if you play your cards right ;)

Capital One Secured Card may be your last resort?, but you'll have to cough up £200 deposit at worst.

If I had the choice I would go with Capital one because of the option of moving across. The secured card can only be offered after you have applied its almost like sying - 'we will give you a go but you have to pay for it'. I would imagine its the main one they have offered and not secure?

Aqua have a cash back card I guess that is attractive but it doesn't work out that much.

Depends if you will run a balance or pay it off every month. :j
