Hi, My sister has internet with talktalk (broadband) she has been getting on it fine but tonight it won't let her! Why would this be? she has only talked to me by phone so I can't look to see the problems, and she isn't very computer literate so isn't that easy to guide!! please advise (if you can!!)

Suggest the following:-
Switch off the computer, modem, router and any associated equipment, then switch them on again after a couple of minutes and check for internet connectivity.
If problem persists, check all wires from the phone line to the modem or router to the computer. If using a wireless router try to connect the computer by ethernet cable directly to the router and ensure that all relevant indicators are lit on the router. If using a direct modem connection then check that the modem is correctly plugged in and the username and password are entered.
There is a sticky on this board for resolving connection problems please browse the info there for further info and post again if still stuck.0 -
It's a feature with TT Broadband. Father in laws has been down all day as well, he has had lots of outages with his even to the point of when someone calls his landline it drops his broadband.Cheers

It could be any number or reasons.
To many users trying to use the system at one time.
A fault at talktalks end
The server is down for maintenance
She should do nothing for the time being, especially not change any setting to see if it helps. I would assume the problem is with talktalk and they are busy sorting it out.
Wait a while, and if it doesn't get better give them a ring.
I also seem to remember talktalk being featured on watchdog not long ago, and I don't think it was because they were getting an award for being the best internet provider0 -

They were voted the 2nd Worst Provider after Orange.
I would agree, Im with TalkTalk and have no-end of troubles and cant wait for the contract to finish.
Id rather pay abit more for a reliable, none stressful service.0
