Photo editing software

Hi, just wondering if anyone can recommend any photo editing software for item pictures on ebay? I have a mannequin for photographing clothes but I would like to remove any other background (the background behind the mannequin is a creamy colour so not too bad any way) and would also liked to have a thumbnail type item picture as I could sell say a top in 6 different colours so it would benefit me to have the 6 colours in a 2x3 layout. Sorry Im rambling, hope this makes sense. It also needs to be compatible with mac

The software of choice for a Mac is Photoshop but it's quite expensive so I would go for a freebie like GIMP (I think you can get a Mac compatible version. http://www.gimp.org/
It's fairly widely used so you will probably be able to find tutorials on you tube and elsewhere on the net. It might feel a bit complicated and fiddly to improve your pictures at first but once you get the hang of it, it's easy."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
There is also a cut down version of Photoshop called Photoshop Elements.0

Bling-it is quite good and is designed for Ebay pics, amongst others. It's $29.99 you might find a deal if you have a scout round. They do a free trial too.
I've been using it on and off for a few years. I recently changed from mac to a PC and found my original copy of it. After an email to them they upgraded my copy free of charge, so I was pretty impressed with the company.
I'm sure there are better software options, but for Ebay use it's pretty effective..0 -
