Plastic carrier bags have become quite precious here in wales as we have to pay for each one(even the really thin ones) so there is not a build up of surplus bags anymore in our house. We even have to pay for the paper bags in macdonalds.

I wonder if anybody sells plastic bags on eBay targeting the people in Wales to whom they are quite precious.

    Untapped market :)
  • I use them to take food to the foodbank and as rubbish bags
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Keep hold of them! We have had to pay 5p each for bags for the past year and it's surprising how quickly my rather large supply has dwindled, I think I am down to the last half dozen or so.

It has been a struggle remembering to take bags everywhere but I think I'm getting used to it now and all the money charged for carrier bags goes to a charity chosen by the store so if I do have to buy one it doesn't feel so bad.
  • I have been using the big strong bags from Morrisons, Lidl etc. for years but still get caught out occasionally. I have loads of bags in a sack in the garage which are used as bin liners, produce collectors from allotment, etc. but over time alternatives will have to be sought. I do try and give all plastic containers a re-use, sometimes many uses. It will be a nightmare for security in stores, I am sure, with people entering the shop with loose items and leaving with even more!
