Can I use a T-Mobile Sim on an O2 PAYG Sony K750i

Hi folks,

My mom has damaged her Samsung T-Mobile phone such that it has been declared beyond repair. I myself have a spare Sony k750i mobile that is on the O2 network using PAYG. Is it possible to use the T-mobile sim card on this O2 sony phone???

I have heard of these phones being locked meaning that I cannot use a T-mobile sim on an O2 PAYG phone for example. So is it possible I can unlock my O2 sony k750i so that it will accept the t-mobile sim??? How do I go about this or can I get it done on the high street??

Hope u can help me out

The phone will be locked to the network it came from but it is possible to get them unlocked. There are places that unlock phones for about £5-10 or you can try phoneing the network and asking them for the unlock code. they normally give them out after you have spent so much money with the network.

Normally O2 PAYG Phones are unlocked and you should be able to use on any network.

I used to have a K750i which was O2 PAYG which worked on Orange and have just picked up a PAYG Nokia 6233 which again is SIM Free.

You will probably need to get it unlocked.

I just tried a Virgin sim in my o2 k750i (Virgin run off the T Mobile Network) and it said "Insert correct sim card".

Unlocking shouldn't cost more than £10.

So where can I get this unlocked then??? I assume you cannot get the phone unlocked at the major mobile phone retail outlets.....

Thanks for the answers so far ....

I believe o2 will send you an unlock code - but they will charge you £15 for it.

Independent phone shops are your best bet. You can do it yourself but at £10 you might prefer to have an "expert" do it for you.
