Hi
Bit of advice please.
I am 23 and living with partner , we have a 5 month old baby.
At the moment I get MA which is due to end in November.
When this ends do / can I go back onto Income support ?
I /we receive Housing benefit, Child Tax credit and Child benefit.
My partner is a Full time Student and is looking for Part time work, he can work up to 16 hours ? with out affecting any thing ?
Thank you

Or alternatively, you could get a job that works around your partner's college commitments/he could look after the baby while you work.
Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

On what grounds would you be entitled to Income Support?
What finance does he get as a student
Why were you on IS before?0 -
Thanks for the comments.
Mildred ,I am looking to go back part time in October.
Princess,
Partner , nil finance.
IS, I was put on it by the Job Centre, they then said I had qualified for MA, Before IS i was on JSA, have done what Job Centre said ,0 -
It is just that people who are pregnant/with child can only normally go onto IS if they are single.
Was your partner not with you then?
Also FT student households are not normally eligible for HB - do they know you have a partner?0 -
???
Confused !
Partner has always been with me.
Have always said / included him on HB application etc,
Again Job Centre told me how to apply , before MA the IS was joint .
Sorry , I just go by what Job Centre etc let me know /tell me.0 -

You would probably have qualified previously because you were on parental leave from work under the rules in the Maternity and Parental Leave Regulations 1999. However as the baby has now been born this regulations will not help you.
As a couple you cannot now claim IS as you do not meet any of the qualifying rules.
If you made sufficient NI contributions you could consider JSA although this is unlikely to appeal as you are hoping to return to work in October.
It is expected that you would rely upon: CB; CTC and student finance for day-to-day living.
Your can claim for HB/CTB as a couple however as you are no longer receiving IS (a passporting benefit) your entitlement will be calulated based on all income, including relevant student loans etc.0 -

Fantastic post! I wondered why it was strange!
Also to add if you declined loans you can take - they can include them as income so do check your loan entitlement.0 -
