IUC for benefit

I have a IUC coming up soon and I have organized for a solicitor to attend with me.

The thing is the solicitor says they will accompany me on the day and discuss with me then what the issues are once the officers present their evidence.

Is this standard practice not to meet a client beforehand and discuss things? Most the things I read on the internet and this forum suggests getting advice before hand, but I did not think it literally meant before the on the day of the interview itself?

Yes it is as they don't always see the evidence until just before the IUC. Called disclosure.

Technically they should ask for disclosure prior to the interview and discuss this with you in advance but they don't do this.

M y son had an IUC five months ago (still not heard back from them) and he had a meeting with the solicitor prior to the interview but as already said a lot do just meet with you on the actual day.
