Hey i tell you flowery island folk are better at using sustainable methods to carry their shopping home in than us on the mainland - the charity I made bags for here sold.....NOT 1 bag!!!! They only wanted £1 for them too.

Must dash - tea is ready - shepherdless pie, cauli and green beans are a calling me.

def agree with that one, keep looking at the shed (my store room for presents) then lock the door and think i'll do then again! xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Hello all!

I quite like wrapping things, I get a strange sort of satisfaction from making the corners neat (not like my OH who does it on the floor and usually ends up with some sort of misshapen thing with fluff stuck in the sticky tape!) Hate shopping though - shame we can't organise some sort of gift buying and wrapping swap!

Very wet here. So far nothing at risk but the view from the windows is over flooded meadows, our front patch of grass is becoming a pond and our road is closed so a longish detour needed to go out - so I'm not bothering.

Hope everyone else is staying dry.

We have a present embargo with family and friends, which means we don't spend money on them we don't have on stuff they don't need and vice versa.

Works for us. Takes the stress out of it all and means we just enjoy the folks we see with no pressure. Going away on holiday does help focus the mind somewhat.

Presents or a holiday - that's a no brainer. Most folks seem to appreciate the embargo rule. Unless they're just nice :rotfl:

We have a £5 each stocking pressie rule for each of us on holiday so we lug those with us. The kids do have a wee gift from santa too, which they dont' know about :D

Not that I have an issue with other folks getting all festive, not at all, everyone does it different but I'd rather spend any money on folks visiting on nice food and have a nice time with them.:A

    Don't drown!

I love wrapping things too - often here we use shiny magazines or comic books for wrapping paper = mine look like your OH's:rotfl:

    Greying

    Hope the sheperdess provided well.

The bags went down a storm (at £2.50) maybe we're better at the hard sell - we don't take bags to events then sell folsk lots of stuff and then offer them a rather lovely bag :rotfl:

    If I'm a ferry operator too - woo hoo - means I get a new hat!:T

Thanks for all your lovely hard work much appreciated!

  • Plan for today

Work for womble HQ then meetings.

Snaffled up lots of invigilating for the first couple weeks of december.

Extra money going to holiday funds which is great.

Teaching again from this week onwards, so finally I get my fingers covered in soil (and paid yay).

A bit of a juggle but hey ho, keeps the pennies flowing in.
