Ok so i got divorced from Ex in 2006. I recently made a claim for mis sold PPi from citifinancial and have been offered approx £1800 refund which i want to accept.

I am no longer in contact with Ex, he has remarried and is in forces. Living in Cyprus as far i have heard.

The loan was in joint names but i was the one paying it off. I settled the loan at the time of the divorce.

Citifinancial asked me to sign to accept the refund which i did but now they have written back saying they need signatures of both named people on the loan. How do i deal with this ?

The divorce detailed that he can make no more financial claims on me. (he was exceptionally immoral- went after my home that he never ever lived in , never paid for etc etc.. the list is endless. he also ttok loans out in my name without my knowledge. )

Is it worth me sending citifinacial copies of the divorce so they can see the details? Will this help them to issue the checuw to me.

I appreciate its in joint names but i have no way of contacting him even if i wanted too ?

I read someweher on this site that the PPi may have only entitled one of the people on the laon therefore that person is the one due to refund. is this true ?? Anyone know ?

is there any other way round this ??

Thanks in advance

you can try sending them copies of the divorce papers, they may issue you a cheque for your half.

Reports I've read indicate the Bank will not budge unless both signatures are provided.
The Bank won't divide the redress, it'll be paid as a lump sum and it is then up to the joint holders to work out between themselves who gets what amount.
