I love Sports Direct. Lots of people complain about them but I've never had a problem with them.
  • I think SD are fine until you have an issue. I've ordered several times from them and always had my stuff delivered really quickly. However the one time I had a problem I needed to resolve it took me about 4 phonecalls and you end up on hold for 15-30 minutes every time you call which I think is why people get so frustrated. PLus you get a different story depending on who you get through to on the phone! :D
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?
  • It seems they are fine if you want their own products they manufacture from other brands they own and they have them in stock when ordering from their website or purchasing from one of their stores.

However it appears that if you need a refund or If you order something that is not theirs or they have run out of stock then they mess you about lots with all sorts of stories and sadly it goes all the way up the chain to their CEO.

(in my case the manufacturer themselves did not have the item i have ordered available at the time in their own stores because they were still selling all their summer/autumn stock before changing over to the winter stuff. I could only get it online from them and it would have taken longer but I now realize it would have been quicker in the end.)

I made a mistake of ordering the item from sportsdirect in mid september and am still waiting, the new 3rd date they have given is 31st December, i am just trying to work out if that will be 2012 or 2013+

(the idea was that is was going to be one of my birthday presents, it might turn out to be an xmas one instead but with the delays im not holding much hope.. possibly an easter present/birthday next year/not at all.)

I understand many people have had good experiences and of those i have read fit into the first catagory i mentioned.

My own experience seems to be because my order falls into the 2nd catagory i mentioned.

It is just unfortunate that it appears most people that visit the forums fall into catagory 2 and are looking for ideas that people have posted that will help to solve the issues that they are having and when looking through the messages people post they go back several years.

sadly due to my experience I will not be using them again but for those that have had good experiences they will probably continue to use them until they too fall into catagory 2.

Anybody know if the prices in-store are the same as those online?

To answer my own question, it seems that it's cheaper to buy online (even including delivery) than it is to buy in-store. At least it was for the item I was looking for.
