Ziggy - Oh bless you sound really poorly still, listen to Dr Escocesa!
La e - Count yourself lucky, our vending machine charges 75p per item! & it doesn't even give change...
Sibles - Congrats on the weight loss & I'm glad to see I'm not the only one thinking about xmas.
Stitchy - Well done for not giving in to the bakery craving! I was meant to be cooking lasagne last night but gave in to the pizza craving...so naughty!!
Pippi - Congrats on the new job & I hope the move went well
NTBY & DNMS - I'm on myfitnesspal too! PM me if you want to add me for some "motivation", although I'm not too sure how motivational I'll be after yesterday!

A question for you all:- Is it ok to turn up to a wedding with only a card? Usually I'd never dream of doing such a thing, I'd have to give something even if it's small else I'd feel rude...but we're going to a friend's wedding in just over a month & when they attended our wedding they gave us just a card, so is it ok if we do the same for them? Torn between feeling rude & money saving here...Thoughts please!

    Today's plan:-
    • Food from stores
    • Make use of free water at work
    • Staying in for my lunchbreak to avoid spending
    • Leftovers for lunch & dinner!
    • Log calories using free app
    • Charged phone at work
    • Check online banking
    • Must try & do a survey or 2
    • DH not drinking all month
    • Washing on eco setting
    • Hang out to dry
    • Make use of TKD membership
    • Must declutter a bit & do some flylady
    • Make meal plan for the week
Have a great, MSE day everyone x

  • Haven't postd before but liked the thread title! So far have checked all accounts online and updated my Pocketmoney App so I know where we are up to. Later DH and I are having a meal out courtesy of Tesco Reward Vouchers - the ones for Pizza Express can now be emailed so it can be more of a spur-of-the-moment thing.

At some point today I plan to:

    Post office with parcels

The Post Office isn't always the cheapest place to send parcels with and some parcel companies will collect from you to save you a trip to the P.O. If you haven't already, have a look here:

I was recently reading that most people use too much washing powder/liquid. I looked on the back of the box and I was one of them! I can actually use half as much and get away with it. :T

It's been a hell of a day!!

    Today I've managed to:

*Watch tv with the lights off.

*Charged my mobile away from home.

*Took some leftovers for packed lunch.

*Watch DVDs from the back of the cupboard, the plots of which I'd forgotten.

*Persuaded my partner to get books from the library instead of paying for them.

*Phoned a friend using 'free' inclusive minutes.

*Planning a cinema trip using Orange Wednesday's offer. You just text FILM to 241 from your Orange phone and Orange'll send you a code which you show to the cinema staff and you get BOGOF on tickets. If I go to the matinee it'll be cheaper than going in the evening and if I go to the local cinema rather than the large multiplex it's cheaper again. Works out at under £5 for two adults. More Cinema offers here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-cinema-tickets

*Put the final details into plans for my wages tomorrow.

*Downloaded new free version of Apache Open Office. All the fun of new software, £0.

*Carefully burn surplus candles for lighting later.

*Use carrier bags for bin liners.

*Enjoy apple and blackberry crumble with scrumped fruit.

*Add 'Try me free' Ocean Spray juice to shopping list:

If you have double AA cover for the same person or the same car ask the AA for a refund. They should have noticed! If they won't give you it all back ask for a "gesture of goodwill" and they may pay you back something.

Yup we also use about half as much, sometimes even slightly less thanks to MSE! I still think it's so cheeky of the companies to actually recommend double the amount you need!
