Hi Everyone,

I hope someone could kindly help .

My elderly Mum is travelling from Hull to Truro and wants to travel between 15th - 17th Dec and only change once. The cheapest I can find is £93.00 and that's with her senior rail card which seems ridiculously high.
Does anyone have any ideas to make this trip a bit cheaper?

Thank you :j:):):):):):):)

Not sure where the [STRIKE]£109.00[/STRIKE] £93.00 fare comes from, but an Off Peak Single with Senior Railcard is £110.90.
This can be booked on the day of travel if required.

You are looking a little too early for anything cheaper.

The cheaper tickets are not available until at least 12 weeks before travel, often later than that for weekend travel.

For example, on Saturday 8 December Advance Singles are available for £33.00 for that trip, with railcard.

Maybe in a few days or so, probably by next weekend, these £33.00 tickets will be available for 15 December.

Coach takes longer, two changes and not necessarily cheaper.

    Is she returning by train?

    Hi and thanks for reply,
Yes, she is returning on the 23rd but tickets for that date not available yet. I looked again day after this post and cost now £110.00. with just one change at Sheffield.
She comes quite regularly and the cost is normally half of this.!

Well a flexible off peak RETURN is £111 (and pence) with a railcard and doesn't need to be booked in advance - though it might be as well to do so for seat reservations.

That could well turn out to be the cheapest option if advances have shot up in price.

    OP, please be patient.

As I said earlier, you can probably expect Advance Singles at £33 to be available at the end of this week or early next.

Now that you have changed your original post, I've had to edit my previous post. ;)
