Praise for Halifax

When watching some TV this morning my mobile phone rang, it was the Halifax fraud detection automatic service asking me to confirm a couple high-value online transactions they had put a hold on. As I haven't used my debit card this month due to trying to save up money for my holiday I hit no to not knowing about them.

After 5 minutes on hold, it seemed like my card details had been cloned, the friendly lady on the end of the phone cancelled my card, put a marker against a pending £2 top-up transaction (most likely a test purchase) as unauthorised and will send out a new card in the next couple days.

So praise for Halifax as some evil person nearly got away with getting £600 worth of stuff which would have messed up my account causing stress if any of the direct debits bounced.
