Paypal payment "unclaimed" by the seller

Hi all,
I recently bought a dress from a seller on eBay and tried to pay straight away (as I always do), however the payment came back "Unclaimed". When I checked the details it said that the seller's email address wasn't registered with Paypal.
So I messaged the seller asking if there was a problem and suggesting that they weren't registered with Paypal properly and got a haughty reply saying that they absolutely were registered and that the problem's on my end because they couldn't see the transaction on their Paypal. I also messaged them the address from the transaction details to double check it was correct and they told me it was.
I'm not sure what else to do. I've suggested that they send me an invoice through Paypal itself but haven't heard anything yet. They've got no seller feedback (but plenty of buyer feedback) and they only had this one listing. I'm pretty sure it's not my Paypal causing the problems because I've been buying and selling all week without trouble.
Should I just request a cancellation instead? It doesn't look like this seller knows what they're doing.

Sounds like they've done something daft like set up an email address for ebay then forgotten to link it to their paypal account.
I've just been the eejit who did this on the other end - seller was trying to refund me and I was saying it wasn't there as I couldn't see it. Turned out to be an old email address I thought I'd changed.
Any way of gently suggesting they put all their ebay linked addresses on paypal just in case? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Nope, it's a Hotmail address.0 -
ahhh I can't help then
We have a couple of google email addresses and you can use both name@gmail.com or name@googlemail.com 1 of them is a default not sure which, on our ebay we use a gmail address and when I signed up I used name@googlemail.com so when an email comes through an I try and reply to it from the google mail dashboard I get a message back saying this address is not registered with ebay as the default is gmail.com, think I got that the right way round.
I have been meaning to update it for a while, keep forgetting.......
Sorry I cannot be of any help maybe contact Ebay non customer service see if they can offer any advice?"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
I have had this problem once before when I bought a PS3 game. It resulted in them getting quite rude about it.
In future what do I need to tell them to do?0 -
Sent 2 messages (over 3 days) to the seller now with no reply.0

Just recall the payment, they will have to sort it out.0
