  • Thank you Ladybird- I feel blessed with the support I've recieved in this diary- everyone is so kind and it does help to know you all understand and are in the same boat.

One step at a time and maybe I'll finally learn patience.

Made £26 on eBay last night. Further de-cluttering so I can list more tonight! The house has never been so organised!! Knowing we will hopefully move soon is a great incentive to sell everything we don't want to take with us. Plus, cleaning the house is much easier without so much stuff.

Back to work now after my little fix of MSE!

  • Just seen your post fae, thank you.

Will catch up on everyone's diaries when I get home tonight.

You're all a great bunch of people- thank you.

  • Feel bit more positive today after my wobbly episode yest!

DH is looking to sell his car, but it seems its easier said than done. Most 2nd hand garages not interested, those that are are offering pittance. Ebay seems our next option but DH is worried about being part of some scam??? He's such a baby!!

No calls from Estate Agent since reduction in house price- pleasssseeee let us have some luck soon, it will really take the pressure off if we can cut the mortgage a bit.

Had jacket potatoes, beans and cheese for tea, mega MSE meal and blooming gorgeous- think I'll do that once a week now.

Off to the old style boards to see how else I can save those pennies......

Whenever I have changed my car I have sold the old one on ebay. My first car was a little hatchback and someone paid waayyyyy over the odds for it. Got more than we wanted for the next car too, a bit less for the one after that but still a fair price and it was a horrible horrible colour!

Each one went on for a penny and no reserve. What you have to remember about cars and ebay is that as well as the private buyers there are lots and lots of traders watching so, in my opinion, if you start low and get as many people as possible watching then it will go for a decent price because even at a fair private sale price a trader will see a profit margin ;) You have to be brave though :D
  • Thank you Ladybird, he's gonna put it on eBay on the weekend, fingers crossed.

Busy few days caring for my parents, hence no real diary update.

Been doing ok, have been reading others diaries which is always great inspiration- thank you everyone.

Have done well not spending this week. DH and I have sep up a spending log- nothing fancy, just a book with the date, reason for spend and amount. Means we can check it off against the account and we now need to justify to each other what we are spending- well to be honest, I need to justify as DH hardly spends anything. I know its working as was going to buy a sandwich at lunchtime in Boots and realized I would have to log it- DH offered to make me a sandwich this am for lunch and I said no, so I could hardly spend on buying one then!

I am certain its these amounts- £3 here and the odd £5 there that will mount up and see us getting rid of the debt quicker, I need to stop thinking of them as small amounts and think of how they will mount up in debt over-payment.

  • Hi Goodlife! Well done with the ebay sales the other day.

I hope your husband's car sells. I've been keeping an eye on car sales in the area lately as DS3's just passed his driving test and they seem to be selling quite well.

I've just been catching up on your diary - jacket potato, cheese and beans is my favourite meal in a hurry. I'd eat it every day if I could :D

    Totally agree with this!
  • Ladybird, you have inspired me in trying to set a target for debt overpayment......
    Off to do some research......

Give it a whirl GL! Even if I don't hit mine just working towards a target has definitely helped me focus and be a lot more proactive :)

Good morning GH! Just popped in to say hello, and I have subscribed to your diary. I read it the other night, and promptly forgot which one it was!!! So, this morning I have found you and subscribed before I forget again. I think you are very iinspirational, and like another poster, it was your comment about trying to buy the perfect life which resonated with me too.

Haven't got time to talk now, but I will pop by again to tell you a bit about me. In the meantime, keep up the good work

    Rae xx
