I saw this programme recommended on another website. As it was on Cnet and has over 85,000,000 downloads I thought I would download and run it.

Despite running CCleaner and Mbam regularly, it found load of problems, actually over 25,000 in one category. I obviously haven't allowed it to "fix" anything.
Is this a programme to be trusted and should I allow it to fix anything it finds?
I was a bit concerned that it found a load of registry problems, but warned that there was a high chance of doing damage by deleting them.
Any comments welcome.

registry cleaning and tune up utilities are a waste of time, and more likely to cause a problem than solve one.!!

Thanks.
I have just been reading the reviews. CNet give it 5 stars, but users are mixed between brilliant and useless.
Too risky so I will leave it for now.0 -
It does nothing that you cant do yourself.
This is a good free defragmenter

Yes I already use Ausolgics.
ASC does a lot more than just defrag.0 -

ASC does a lot more than just defrag.
And that's the problem it does a lot more things that you do not have full control over.
It's pointless these auto programs asking people if it's OK to change something when it's not clear what they do.
I used to try all kind of software but more often than not they just created problems.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -
I've used ASC for years without any probs, but I never, ever use the registry defrag or fix registry utilities.0
