I love my cats but......

.....their favoruite game at the moment is to sit and cry at the closed window in the room i am sitting in most of the time. I am not very well and getting up every few minutes is making me grumpy. As soon as i have let them in they run upstairs and out through the window they use as a cat flap (first floor but with a roof that slopes down, to low level, so very easy for them, its their main route in and out) jump out, run round and start the bleating again.

When its warmer and they do this its not a problem as i leave the wondow or door open, but today its extremely annoying.

Thankfully, as i typed this they seem to have settled down on the sofa with me.

Will swap yours for mine .. interested?
  • Sounds like they are just wanting a bit of attention to be honest, give them a bit of a cuddle and play for a while with them.

It might keep them quite for a bit!

I know what you meant though, my parents cat has a cat flap at the back of the house where they can come and go as they please - but keep sitting on the front door step and meowing to be let in!

And when she meows she makes sure it's loud enough for EVERYONE in the house to hear!

Yeah, they always want attention. :o:D. I went putside and cut the grass and i was out this morning so its probably 'look at me' time now as far as they are concerned.

We had a feral cat in the house winter before last and when ever i showed any interest in her whatsoever one of mine would practically so handstands or the can can to divert attention back to them.

And its been a dull hunting day....not very warm outside so inside must seem more like the lace to be.

Well, you know, i felt quite mean for getting grumpy last night, as there was a gap between the duvet and me and my back was getting cold and the cats found this breach in bed warmth and covered me up with their little firry bodies and purred me back to sleep.

They are pretty great. That said, they are waking up now and the whole window malarky will soon start again. Its quite fresh here today but not freezing, so i will almost certainly open a down stairs window for them.
  • I woke up this morning to find the Defective Ninja aka Idiot Cat had been out hunting and decided to bring the spoils back to me for breakfast in bed.

Fortunately, he's defective AND an idiot, so his prey was about ten crunchies from the bowl.

Ten trips upstairs, holding an individual crunchie each time, up onto the bed and then onto me to carefully deposit my snack on and about my head.

Heaven help me if he ever finds a mouse.

A couple of mine steal socks from the laundry bin and hide them, often under the sofa along with dead mice but sometimes in the shower. No 9 (introduced 3 months ago) will only come in the front because he gets punched by No 4 if he tries to use the catflap - not an issue today with the front window open, but he's in for a shock when winter comes. He has a Siamese-type wail that could wake the dead and he's taught himself how to use the door-knocker; we thought it was someone playing knock down Ginger at first. I know for a fact that he goes in next door to eat the dog's food while the dog wags her tail and brings him her fluffy toys - thankfully the neighbours don't mind at all. I'm always a bit dubious when No 7 goes out the front - she plays the tart on the front wall for passers-by but she can be quite volatile if she chooses.

  • I could swap you for either a senile 17 year old who keeps forgetting he's already been fed, a cat that thinks its one of the dogs (even comes for walks with us - i think he does it on purpose to upset the rest of the dogs we go past) or the CRF cat that misses the litter tray - the smell from the kitchen is not pleasant of a morning!
