No, it doesn't.
It begins to be brought in for new working age claimants in 2013.
People under the age of 16 can still claim DLA after this date.
People claiming DLA who have passed working age can continue to claim.
By 2016, all working age claimants are supposed to be migrated over to PIP.
Timescales, as always, are flexible, and liable to shift, if things go well/badly.0 -
Do you know what happens if you cease to become of working age during this timescale, Roger?
And is working age calculated differently for men and women, like the state pension is? Thanks0 -
all DLA claimants aged 16-64, men and womem, will be transferred.
At the moment, if you are under 65 in 2013 you will be transferred, however, the legislation specifically enabling the transfer has not been presented yet, so there is still some room for change.0 -
And of course, if it goes 'well' - this may lead on to (if any government has the stomach to 'punish the elderly') reassessing those on AA/DLA over 65, and transferring them over to PIP at some point in the future.
This is speculation at the moment, there would need to be legislation passed to enable this.0 -
Existing claimants
There is no automatic transfer from Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to Personal Independence Payment. Between October 2013 and March 2016 Between October 2013 and March 2016 we will write to claimants already getting DLA to invite them to make a claim for Personal Independence Payment. They will be individually assessed against the new entitlement criteria
So there are no automatic transfers to PIP and they will start writing and getting people to apply from october 2012 - March 2016 will only be the two rates as well Standard and Enhanced0 -
What is the new criteria for PIP!!??0
