  • Do you have UK TV style? If you do, spend some time watching the property programmes you will learn LOADS (and probably become addicted)

Dryrot is a fungal spore which can travel in the air and enbard itself into the house, rotting it away and virtually crumbling it down if left untreated - it can even invade a neighbouring property - seriously nasty

I don't see why a mortgage adviser would need to know about house defects, when they have no surveying qualifications! Each to their own. You leave professional advice to the professional required - solicitor, estate agent, surveyor, mortgage adviser.

No, I don't get UK TV Style - I hardly watch tv at all but thanks for the info anyway!

MM and KTF did you get the CeMap 3 Mocks I emailed to you?

I think it has something to do with having an understanding of the whole house buying process. Knowing what the common major defects are that might cause a lender to have a retainer on the mortgage I think is very important for a mortgage advisor to know. You weren't asked on the exam how to treat dryrot or expected to to have any in depth knowledge about it.
