Like/ share comps on Face Book - This is my opinion

I'm quite new to the world of FB comps. I understand what you mean by the "like and share" comps. But what does "those with apps" mean? Sorry if this is stupid!

an app is one you enter via a competition tab it usually asks for name & email but some also ask for your address, or they use something like rafflecopter. these comps can now contact you directly about the win rather than posting on their page , which if you are a comper means you really need to keep a record of all like & share comps & keep going back to the page to check as you'll have hundreds of companies posting & it sooooooo easy to miss a post

Nah, not stupid at all. Facebook comps are supposed to run with apps (as in applications) rather than directly via Facebook itself. Something you have to click on to open up a form to complete, or perhaps a game to play, whatever. This is where a good competition will allow us to enter our details, which means that the winner can be contacted directly and privately. Otherwise if winners are announced on a FB page, it leaves the door wide open for people claim, "I'm Tiger Woods/Sparticus" and steal the real winner's prize.
