Hi
I have a Lexmark All-In-One printer (X5150) and my ink cartridges are driving me nuts. After I haven’t used the printer for a period of time (4 weeks, cos I sometimes have to go abroad), i don’t get good prints from my printer. I took my cartridges to Cartridge World, they cleaned them up (cos they say the ink ‘crystalizes’ if unused for long periods of time) and now they work fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to store the cartridges if I don’t use my printer for long periods?
On a slightly different note, I’m thinking of ditching my Lexmark All-In-One and instead buying a Canon All-In-One printer as the ink cartridges are considerably cheaper for the Canon, what are peoples opinions about Canon printers?
Sooooo many thanks
Shahid

havent got an all in one but I do have a lexmark. If the ink dries out on the bottom of the cartridge, I take a square of bounty kitchen roll, dampen it under the tap and wipe the bottom of the cartridge once in one direction then put it back in the printer and print. It usually works.I only get this problem when Ive refilled the cartridge though so they ink composition is maybe not the same. Doesnt your lexmark park the cartridges so they stay usable?0

I've got an all-in-one Lexmark and I can't get it to do decent photo prints from my digitial camera. I've done the maintenance bit, changed the cartridges etc but still no joy. It does perfectly acceptable scanning and copies of documents, even when I'm using non-generic (it that the right word?) cartridges but photos are naff!0

I'd go with the kitchen towel option at well but I'm so fed up of the cartridges doing it that I'm buying a different make, a HP or something....Ex forum ambassador

Do you go into the printer properties and alter the quality/speed to best when you selct your photos to print ? This makes a huge difference on my Lexmark All in One when printing pictures (I don't know which model you have - mine's a X75)0
