Hi
Had a search but couldn't find a similar Q Soory if I missed one.
My account on another site was hacked.
Thief changed the email address to a hotmail one then bought an e-cert with my loyaly points which was sent to that account.
Other site is claiming this did not happen!
So
How do I (or the police) get information as to who set up this fake hotmail email and what emails were sent\received from it and to what IP address?
I need to prove to the other site that I never setup the address so consequently never received any vouchers.
I've asked on Microsoft answer but don't hold out much hope of a reply TBHO.
Cheers.

Are the e-cert's for physical goods? You could ask them where the orders were delivered to and pass this info to the police.
I think it would be very difficult to find who did it with just a hotmail address and ip address, since the police usually don't care enough/have the manpower. Unless of course this is for a very large sum of money.0 -

The E-cert was for vouchers so not sure if they are physical cards or e-mail attachments.
I just need to know where to start asking TBHO
It's a looooooooooong shot and I have other avenues to progress.0
