R reg fiesta troubles!

hi my girlfriend has a r reg fiesta 1.3, its her first car and she didnt pay much for it but she doesnt want to spend anything on it either because she doesnt think its worth it cause she is looking for a new car.

• her car has some problems which were trying to figure out:
  
• the car used to lose its revs and not let her go over 3000 revs and it would chugg cause of this causing the car to just cut out (very dangerous on motorway)
  
• this happened a few times so we did a full service on it at home, spark plugs were a little black but cleaned them up and then ended up replacing them.
  
• car runs fine now but after driving for longer than 15 minutes it can chugg and lose the revs, this can be very scary for her because she has a long drive to work everyday

anyone know what the problem may be? would be great help thanks

Try the air flow/mass meter.

I would try the air flow meter as Carl suggested. I would also look at the air filters - this used to be the problem for me on my old Citroen.
