Despite reading about all the doom and gloom with reports of delays and BB holders being forced to attend special OT/ Physio assessments, I was pleasantly surprised when my partner's badge arrived in the post today.
The renewal papers with new photos were posted about a month ago, shortly after receiving notification from the County Council. I was dreading the stress if she was told she had to attend assessments, etc, but in the end it seems this was not necessary, even though she is not on HRM - maybe they liaised with the Hospital Consultant in charge of her care, or wrote to her GP, who knows, as it is clearly not a very transparent process and I have heard of a lot of people who have been told they "no longer qualify" or will need to attend an OT assessment to see if they meet the criteria.
Hope those of you waiting for your renewed BB get it soon - there is hope :T

I recieved mine in March, despite never applying for one before. I got mine within 2 weeks of applying. I dont recieve any DLA i got refused so really the BB is abit of a miracle.0
