Bizarre DVLA driver license renewal sent to wrong address!!!
Options
Not sure if correct place to post this. My renewal notice to renew my picture on my drivers license has been sent to my address and my parents in law's address! Thing is, I have never lived at my parents in law addresss and I have nothing posted to their address. Why would the DVLA have done this? Some kind of fraud going on?? Help me xxx

I think you need to ask the DVLA.
We could tell you all sorts of 'truths' but hey its the internet. It doesn't mean what we tell you is right or accurate. Truth be told I could tell you its definitely fraud and you'll panic like mad. Whats the point? - You're trying to scare yourself by asking online.
Wait until Monday and ring the DVLA.0 -
My DL is registered at my parents address but the renewal for my DL was sent to both my parents address and my current address. I was a bit freaked out by this as I have never given out my new address to DVLA!
As I'm ex-DVLA staff I asked a friend who works in the DL dept and she said they now check credit reference agencies (Experian etc) for changes in addresses and send renewals there too in case you have moved and not updated your address.
So it could be something like this in your case?* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Thank you both for the replies.
I will call the DVLA on Monday.
However, I am still so shocked. I have nothing going to my parents in law house. All my stuff, bank, bills, credit cards etc, everything is at my address. I have no idea how they have linked me to my parents in law house. They were also shocked to get a letter for me at their house!0 -

As ex-DVLA staff, shouldn't you be setting an example by notifying DVLA immediately of your address change as required by law?
No.
The address registered with DVLA only needs to be a contactable address for you. It does not have to actually be where you currently live.
I am in temporary accomodation, therefore makes more sense for mail to go to parents where I collect it weekly.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *
