Hi,
I have some green tomatoes, rhubarb and cooking apples. I need to do *something* with all of them (chutney? freezing?) tomorrow - any ideas?
This preserving malarky is all very new to me. I don't even know how to sterilise jars....
Gah.

Last night I made a delicious compote (fancy thick fruit sauce) by cooking down our cooking apples and rhubarb on a low heat with a bit of water, some sugar to taste and cinnamon. Jar or freeze and that should be delicious! If you will eat is soon, put it in a plastic container in the fridge. We put ours on oatmeal!:A Thanks to all the lovely people who contribute their advice! :A0
