EasyJet - now allocated seats !!!

I dont know if this is covered elsewhere.............
Starting this winter, Easyjet will stop the "free for all" sit anywhere policy on their flights.
If (like me) you have flights booked from November onward, you should take a look on the easyjet site to see where your seats are.
EasyBoarding passengers are also allocated seating; in designated areas of the plane. They can choose extra legroom seats for an ADDITIONAL £4 per seat per flight on top of easyboarding charge.
A couple of things;
1) WHAT do you now get by paying for easyboarding;
i) a seperate check-in desk !
ii) you also get to board the plane first - WHY!! there is no point if the seats are allocated anyway. many people go easyboarding so that they get to see where all the screaming kids are seated - but now they are just allocated and could well be next to you anyway.
2) Easyjet claim the allocated seating will get people on the plane quicker - complete rubbish !!
If you have allocated seats, there's no point standing in the queue. Just wait until your name has been called twice and then stroll on when everyone is seated and you go straight to your seat. (thats the extreme version but you know what I mean - just relax and take your time getting on).
Personally, I think easyjet have screwed up on this idea.

A full circle of being allocated a seat but the middle era covered by a fee which has now become the norm, only upside of booking speedy boarding is you have a chance of getting your carry on bag in the locker not put in the hold if you are one of the last few on and a chance of it getting lost !"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

Avoiding the crowd and better chance of overhead locker space being available are two reasons I can think of.
I flew Easyjet the other day twice, once from Egypt to Switzerland and then from Swiss to the UK and both times people were called to check in hand luggage due to a lack of space on board.
I have flown hundreds of times and the only time I have ever experienced a lack of locker space was on those two flights. It, to me seems unique to EZY???0 -
This was expected, they are only interested in making money.
This is one of the additional fees they have added after the administrative fees they started charging this year.
And it is not pleasant to board a plane when they announce at boarding time that they have very strict boarding rules.0 -

I bet you're the same kind of passenger who would moan about a late departure because you decided to take your time getting to the gate!
You can sit anywhere in the £3 area (not £4) of the plane with no extra cost if you let easyjet chose the seat for you. Speedy boarders will be able to chose any seat for no extra cost and the other benefits they have now. The first row is £12.
I think it will make for a more civilised boarding process instead of an army of people bashing past you to get a decent seat!0 -
Speedy boarding gives you a separate bag drop desk that saves that long long queue to hand in luggage. I'm pleased they have allocated seats, boarding has become a shambles - speedy boarding, children under 5 etc then everyone else. Travelling as a family of 3 with a 12 year old, who like to sit together the whole take your chance boarding was unpleasant, especially in summer when everyone seemed to have boarded before they started to call for non-priority/non-extra pay travellers. Flying to the States earlier in the year with allocated seats was luxury!0

I booked Speedy Boarding this year but haven't bothered for next year because of Allocated Seating however there is no mention of allocated seating for my flight. Is this likely to change and am I likely to receive notification allowing me to prebook my seats? On Easyjet site theres a link to check flights that will be getting allocated seating but my flight is not on the list?0
