Been Accepted for Voluntary Redundancy - How Long Can This Take?

I was informed by my manager yesterday that my application for Voluntary Redundancy has been confirmed for £6.5k. I read in the letter in my application that this is approved subject to "bumping" within the council which is where my position then goes to someone waiting to be re-deployed.
I took this due to the fact I'm moving to Weston-super-mare to be near my mother and siblings. I have to leave my property outside Birmingham by October 31st and the fact is, I have a dodgy landlord therefore I want to pay him and go no questions asked.
How long can this take and what's an average notice period? I have 11 days of Annual Leave remaining, so will they be lost so I can get my dream date of October 19th achieved?

How long is a piece of string?
The key is it needs a "bump" so have you asked how many are in the current redeployment pool and how many are being considered for your post.
Have/can you be proactive in getting those in the pool to ask for your job?
Are there others that might be interested that may be redundant soon or might create a double bump, they take yours a redeploy takes theirs.
Notice is contractual have you asked about PILON if someone suitable is found?
Suprised some of this info was not given/asked for as part of the applications for VR
YOu have almost certainly identified yourself with the info provided0 -
You need to look at the terms of the VR scheme. It is likely that any accrued but untaken holiday is accounted for in the payment.
How long it takes surely depends on when your position is matched/competed for by someone at risk.0 -

I do know of a couple of people, but I doubt I have the power to be frank.
Thank you for advice0 -
You don't need power you need influence often that is just telling people hey ask for my job.
if someone wants your job but has no idea it is available nothing will happen.
Ask your boss when and how many they are interviewing from the redeployment pool for your job.0
