They can have 'a policy' of no refunds, like they could have 'a policy' of beating guests with a broom (if thats what floats their boat) - but they cant overturn the law! Obviously!

I'm not sure any company is obligated in telling you why they wont serve you - but that they dont have to serve anyone they dont want to serve

I agree, people are entitled to choose who they are in contract with. But the company have taken the customers money - they have already elected to do business with them. Why they wont serve her is relevant imo as it effectively is going to tell us whether the consumer was in breach or whether it is the hotel who is in breach.

I think the OP knows the exact reason, the friend wouldn't have just told them what they've told us without going into detail.

So come on OP, what's the real reason they're barred?

Homophobia is mentioned, I hope your friend didn't try to seduce the receptionist! :D

Agree, there seems to be more to this than we're being told. I would have thought that if the 'friend' was barred, how come she was able to make so many bookings for this particular Travelodge (ok, unless they had been made before the 'ban').

Accusations of homophobia are serious and can be dealt with through the legal system if you can prove it. Can you?
