Baby food at Cardiff Airport question

Options
My daughter/her husband with 6mth baby are traveling abroad for a holiday soon via Cardiff Airport. They are trying to find out if they can purchase baby food ie milk landside to be delivered when they are airside? Alternatively will they be able to buy airside?

The last thing they want and would anticipate, is that anything taken ie fluid, would be confiscated.

It has been said that "you can take milk but they open it", then it would become useless as it is not being kept in a fridge.

I/we will welcome any information please.

Didn't realise any airlines still flew from Rhoose airfield!

In the event that there is a (very rare) outbreak of aviation down there, and you're relatives are flying, I'd suggest a quick call to the airport will probably answer your questions.
  • There's lots of info on the websites for airlines and airports. You are allowed to go through security with enough milk for the journey but they do make the parent taste it so it has to be opened.

You can find out what shops are airside and if there is a boots do an order with delivery to store and collect once though security.

Since making this post, I have emailed Cardiff airport re their hard to find "contact us" and given them the question. No doubt that from whichever airport one departs, there must be some sort of facility to enable parents to have adequate supplies for their babies.

Wouldn't it be a whole heap easier for them to take powdered milk, some empty bottles, buy some water airside and make them up when they need them? There really isn't any need to be travelling with made up milk.

I will ask them that, it would seem to be the answer. Will see what they say.

  • Infant formula needs to be prepared with water between 70-100 degrees and not bottled water as the mineral content is too high. (Nhs guidelines 2007)

Put baby in kennels and then they can enjoy holiday without bothering Boots.
Google says that cynelau is Welsh for kennels if that helps (possibly means Petunias then)

we flew when my son was 4 months from gatwick and I had 6 cartons of milk in our bags ( we were going to turkey so a four hour ish flight and he was on 3 hour feed - gannet springs to mind!!) my husband only had to taste the mik in the bottle... but we did learn that the boots after security sold it (obviously at a higher cost!) not sure if there are any shops there... x
  • If there is a Boots airside then you can order it into the store, we did that from Belfast.
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
