Overdrafts

I'd strongly suggest getting that under £2,000. Then you will avoid paying £60 a month when they double the charge on 2nd November. The overdraft is £2100.

Three key points here:Yea they charge me ... £15 for the ultimate reward account
1. If you can get your overdraft under £300 the daily fee is waived.
2. If you can move £1,000 a month into the current account each month (and back out) you get a £5 credit. Using an Online Saver account and making multiple transfers totalling £1,000 can achieve this.
3. If you're not in a position to benefit from point (1) and you're not using the other benefits of URCA ask them to change the account to a Reward account. That will save you an immediate £15 a month. And you can still do (2) to gain a fiver.0 -
I find one of the best banks to have an overdraft with is Cahoot. I have one set up for £1300 with an apr of 10.3% and no additional fees.
I use this as a secondary bank for some bill payments. Also my regular occupational pensions do not go into this account and have never found it a problem provided the account receives some form of credit.0 -
Yes, get rid of the Halifax OD, come the 2nd November it's going to cost you a lot more to borrow this way, between £1 and £3 a day depending on the balance.0

Do you have any suggestions as to how the OP can get one of these accounts?
Me thinks a little bit of sarcasm is a foot here!0 -
