  Virgin provide my home phone, previously I was an NTL customer, I work away a lot and although I have a good income it varies in frequecy of when I get paid sometimes every 3 months, for this reason I avoid direct debits as I got sick of banks fining me in the past, got £2000 back, I pay all my bills on time using my debit card and my £5 a month mobile (900 mins cheers t mobile) and using say no to 0870, saves getting stitched by 0845 & 0870 call centres.
To my horror when opening my mail after being away for a couple of months discovered Virgin had taken over my phone, and were charging me £5.00 for not paying by direct debit, a £10 fine for not paying the £5.00.
I have had the £10 credited back but they wont budge on the £5.00 charge, which they continue to charge me monthly this I feel is illegal it is forcing customers to pay by DD, anyone know what can be done about it.
Personally as a person who detests snobbery an arrogance I hate the Virgin branding and avoid it like the plague, this is because of the railways, and the fact they have decreased ordinary seating in favour of 1st class.
Up yours Branson and rather travel Midland Mainline and grab a bucket seat with Stellios look foward to Easy Rail.[/SIZE]

Strangely enough out of the 3000 plus new laws this government has put in place, allowing customers to pay in whichever way that they wish isn't one of them. However BBC watchdog do have a campaign on the go and you can get a sample letter to send to virgin from their website
http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/reports/services/services_20070314_letters.shtml"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
