Car Insurance Named Driver Question

Hi all,
My wife has just passed her driving test and i wanted to ask about getting her insured to drive our car.
I am the registered owner of our car and i am also the main policy holder on the insurance.
My question is that now my wife has passed i want to add her as a named driver but i am not sure who will be doing the most driving in the car yet. She will be driving to work and back 4 to 5 times a week but i will be using the car myself in the evenings and weekends and sometimes i might drop her off at work depending on shifts.
Who should be the main driver or named driver as i have 5 years no claims and i like to do everything by the book. I think our driving will be about the same but not 100% sure until we both start using the car. Should i just insure her as a named driver for now until we know who will be using it the most and keep a record of how many miles each we do. I will tend to drive around when we are both at home or on holiday or long trips.
I have heard the terms of fronting before when someone is the main policy holder and the named driver is the one using the car all the time but am not sure if what we are doing will be classed as fronting or not as she will be only using it to and from work and i will be using it at evenings and weekends. Is fronting when someone insures the car but then lets the named driver drive all the time without the policy holder driving at all.

The RK is normally the policy holder but not that does not mean that he/she is the driver of the vehicle. For example, my mother had a mobility car which was insured in her name but her carer was listed as the main driver.
In your case you just simply add your wife onto your policy by contacting your insurers and going through the normal qualification checks as you would if you were taking out insurance in the first place. No doubt though, your premium will increase significantly as she is a new driver.
Fronting is when someone takes out insurance on an 'any (or named) driver basis' on a car that they don't actually own, usually for their son or daughter to avoid the young/new driver high premium. Insurers are becoming wise to this though and many now have adjusted their t & c's to stamp it out.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
So adding her as a named driver will be ok if we both use the car on a daily basis.
I got all confused with looking at fronting online as so many things about it. So as we will be both sharing the driving this wont be classed as fronting and is ok.
Just dont want to get anything wrong you see.The RK is normally the policy holder but not that does not mean that he/she is the driver of the vehicle. For example, my mother had a mobility car which was insured in her name but her carer was listed as the main driver.

As long as you provide the full details about the driver(s) to be added to your policy, you should have no problems. Simply ring your insurer and tell them.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
by what you have provided you would be using it more, so i would put her down as named driver FREQUENT user. keep a record of your mileages for the policy term and then reassess that issue upon renewal.0

Many thanks for the advice so far.
Its so hard to work out as we have never shared a car. The insurance company could also not suggest either LOL as they said it depends on who uses it the most which we dont know yet. Its best to check on here like i did before changing anything.
