Puppy farm awareness

On 15th September 2012 a unique event in the history of the U.K. will commence, something that has never been attempted before.
In a remote location, hidden deep in the welsh countryside, miles away from prying eyes… in an outbuilding, a lone female will be imprisoned. She will have no access to the outside world, no company, no proper bed and only basic food and water for 7 days. Broadcast 24/7 via a webcam around the world, so you can see the loneliness and deprivation thousands of battery farm dogs are forced to endure because of public demand for puppies. Puppies sold in pet shops, puppies sold online via pet classified, puppies sold by backyard breeders, while their parents remain behind, locked away out of sight, not just for 7 days but for 7 years or more.
But this time there’s a difference…. this time the lone female prisoner is a HUMAN

I forgot about the you tube 7 day link which is where I got the words in my opening post ( there and facebook ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t8qQ-lxsc0&feature=youtu.be
I think I'm right in saying that the Bichon at the beginning of the Puppy Love film is Kitty who unfortunately was killed shortly after her liberation from the hell hole that she was kept in. Her story can be found on the Bichon Friends website under Kitty's wish.0 -

Horrible isn't it, just a wee bit of thought and she could still be in a home today. Kitty is also the wee girl on the puppy love banner.0

my moms dog lulu came from the manytearsrescue in carmanthanshire? she was one of the "lucky" ex breeding queens. she had never been out for a walk (didnt know how:() and had just been kept penned too.
thankfully hers is a happy ending and shes currently on holiday in the yorkshire dales (booked special for her:o) with my mom and dipite everything is a total soppy sweetheart.
if you look at the rescue she came from its heartbreaking to see so many just like lulu who spent years of their life cooped up and beeing used as a breeding machine:(***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
I too have rescued an ex breeding b*tch from a puppy farm via a small local rescue. She was 3 years old and a Lhasa Apso. When I got her, she was in a terrible state, nails grown into her feet, matted coat, and she was a dirty grey colour. Imagine my surprise when she came out of the groomers as a sable and white! She had never been in a house, or on a lead for a walk. She was scared of everything. She is 8 now and it took her 4 years to fully accept that not all people are bad!!
She is now, sadly blind (apparently it is common in puppy farm breeding b*tches as their pupils do not contract, because they never see daylight).
I can honestly say that rescuing her is the best thing I ever did. She is the sweetest, funniest, prettiest little being on the planet, but I would say that 'cos I'm her mum!!0 -

that sounds very much like Lulu:o (shes a shih tzu though) shes now apparently getting to be a bit of a fatty 9she was listed as underweight, mom suspects shes secretly snacking on the catfood:eek:
shes settled in well, moms other shih tzu china has no choice but to allow lulu with her fatself into her basket loool. its so sad, all that time and no love yet they can turn into the most loving pets ever. I have a cat that was similar, lived in a cage for 3 years of his life in a garden:mad: then a woman rescued him but she then "rescued" 20 odd more before realising she couldnt cope...he came to me shaved (hes a chinchilla persian) and skin problems etc as he had been just running loose outside all the time, hes the cuddliest (demanding:o) cat ever, and he actually gives hugs by putting his paws around your neck and squeezing:eek::rotfl: I think the animals that do get rescued repay us sooo much with love..they inspire me because despite the abuse they can still love...I feel so sorry though for those that dont get the chance:(***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0
