New Capital One 5% Cashback card refused

I also been using a CapitalOne MasterCard World for few years.
I get 1% cashback plus £10 bonus every January
Thought of applying for a Capital One Aspire World that has a cashback of 5%, upto a max of £100.
Customer service told me that I will need to close your existing account and then reapply. I decided against this cos, with the Aspire card,
1. Cashback of 5% is subject to £100 max
2. cashback goes down to 0.5% after 99 days.
3. Its a on off. Not every year.
4. To get 1% (as with exixting card) I need to spend £6,000 - £9,999.99.
Can't get the CapitalOne MasterCard World again in future as it is no longer available.
So I applied for an Aqua Reward Card that pays 3% cashback.
It also a £100 max. But it is £100 every year. Not a one off as with Aspire.
When I hit that £100, I will start using the 1% CapitalOne MasterCard World again.0
