take it to another garage for a second opinion no one on here with out phyiscally seeing the car will be able to 100% identify the problem

Yeah I understand, just wondered if anyone had experienced this problem with their own vehicle.

    Many thanks

They said the tracking was fine and didn't need adjusting.

What else could possibly cause a car to pull to one side?

  • tyres. make sure the tyres are the same on both sides. for e.g 185/55 r13 even a change of brand of on one side can cause a pull.

then theres Camber images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSpkYmuBlA8yBMkprQpKP1Us-NFw6SJTWsjB8EU3AYQhY_x5W8FLA a negative or posotive camber on ONE wheel can cause a pull.

then moving on to the wheel HUB has that side had a fight with a curb, a damaged hub can cause pulls.

worn or damaged suspension spring or arm or top mount on that side will cause a pull.

then move onto bushes and ball joints, then onto wish bone.

then check the engine mounts, any worn borken?

  • Tyres are all 175/65/r14. All Michelin, except the front right wheel.

    Cant check the rest, obviously.

Any idea what level the tyres should be inflated to? Just for local driving.

infaltion rate is stamped into the tyre, or open drivers door and look on the data sheet or in hand book/ IIRC corsa 14's are 32psi.

put car on level ground center the steering, and stand as far back and look at both the wheel angles.

or if you have a spirit level with a vertical level indicator center the steering again and put the sprit level over the center of the tyre veritcally (this is not accurate but will give and indication of the camber it will be out as all are you can never center the alignment and there is room for + or - in each wheel, compare both sides.

edit: if no spirit level, then get a solid ruler, using the top of the arch to the trye in the arch measure the distance between wheel and top center of the arch, again not accurate but indication, and there is room for + or - in each side.

  • Sticking brake caliper will also cause a pull to one side, go for a drive as normal (quite short) and when you come back see if one front brake disc is a lot hotter than the other. Be careful though, they can get very hot - a short drive should mean they're not too bad though.
