Hi there
Christmas day last year my van was parked up outside
My brothers house, we heard a big bang, went outside
And someone had smashed into my van and drove off
I phoned insurance/police and insurance paid out
Police never found the car... Now its come round to
Renewel and i went with a different company (swintons)
Meanwhile my current insurer (quik fit) have awarded me
Another years no claims as i wasnt at fault in the accident
So i put all my details on swintons 3 years ncb and my
Non fault accident and yesterday i recieve a letter from
Swintons saying there is a problem and my accident is classed
As a fault claim so now im confused who is at fault?

You've had an at fault claim as there wasn't a third party to claim from. However you haven't had a collision.0

I just dont understand why quik fit didnt class it as
My fault but swintons do..?0 -
Not much makes sense with insurers.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

You were "blameless" , but as the third party was unidentified the claim is (correctly) beimg recorded as a "fault" claim.
Fault and no fault refer to whether or not the claim cost your insurer. In this case you did cost your insurer.
Not impacting your ncd is irrelevant (and may have been an admin error! )
You do need to declare this as a fault claim to future insurance companies.0 -
Well after swinton updated their systems the quote went up
£180 so ive cancelled the policy and renewed with quik fit..
Maybe i will have to stick with them for a few years..0
