I buy as much stuff as I can in tetrapak, rather than tins, as they are lighter, easier to hold and much, much, easier to open (scissors vs spoon jammed into ringpull vs a tin opener). And they happen to be slightly easier to organise.
They are, unfortunately, nonrecyclable- at least round here - but they make a lot of difference where they are available.
I do sympathise - got RA myself. Circular articles are the very devil, from tins to coins to lids to buttons. LIDS! They're the worst. I've used every gadget known to man, including having one of those on standby in front of the telly, rubber gloves, teatowels, tapping the underside, everything - but the only thing that seems to work reliably is what happens after I've been trying for ages, my hands hurt, I'm hungry and probably got a dose of PMT;
Getting a big pointy kitchen knife and stabbing the lid so the seal opens. (Think Psycho with a jar of gherkins - more so if it's beetroot and I get a bit too enthusiastic)
I can honestly recommend this for new jars it is fantastic, releases the seal, just like stabbing with a knife, without the danger (and resulting hole in the lid) It is the only way I can those jars of pickles open!0 -

I was going to suggest one of those myself. I don't have RA and struggle with lids sometimes, so it must be unbearable if you have RA - the jarkey is brilliant.0 -

Found one but don't know if it's more expensive than the one you found on ebay

Just found several things I would buy on this site, but would we get stung by tax as they are being shipped from the US?0 -

I didn't. The site says they cover the taxes when shipping overseas. The postage to the uk makes your eyes water a bit though.
I've got the racks I ordered and they are sturdy and do what I want, so pleased but disappointed nowhere in the UK seemed to offer a useful product like this.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
