Am I doing this right

Ive currently got a marks and Spencer's card that had 0% interest which comes to an end in October. I currently have an outstanding balance of £5k on it. I've been accepted for a tesco credit card which is 0% interest for 16 months. They will also allow me to balance transfer £2950 for 9 months at 0% but with 2.9%fee is £116.
My point is I could pay off my m and s card in full but could do with some of that money being balance transferred as I'm doing up my house
Would I be better doing a balance transfer on a completely separate card, so in plain English still have the new tesco credit card but apply for another card for the balance transfer.
I'm slightly confused please help

  • You should try a new one because it gives you more time limit for transfer.and if you want to use the existing than there is not too much difference in charges.
